Tips for Senior Portraits
Book your session early
Don't wait to book your senior portrait session. The sooner you book the more options you will have for dates and times. Don't get left behind, book early and enjoy the rest of your summer. Sessions will become less available at the end of the summer and there is very limited availability in the fall. Our goal is to ensure every Class of 2025 Senior is represented in the yearbook with an AMAZING portrait!
Be on time. (That means be Early)
Your session begins at the time your appointment is scheduled for. That means you should be sitting in front of the camera at that time, not getting dressed or fixing your hair and make-up. Please give yourself plenty of time before your your scheduled appointment to get ready. It can sometimes also be quite warm out on your way in for your session, give yourself time to not be red and sweaty ( If you are not on time we may need to reschedule all or a portion of your session.)
Camera Room
Only the photographer and subject are allowed in the camera room at a time. Our photographers are really great at pulling genuine expressions from everyone. No worries, we've got you.
Clothing
It's all about you! Be you! Wear your favorite clothes be it dressy or casual (unless your school requires a certain dress code). Our senior sessions include 1 outfit. Want more variety? Simply book 2 sessions back to back! Just remember to dress from head to toe, this will give the photographer more posing options. Don't assume that everything is head and shoulders only. (guys, shirt & tie with shorts never looks good). Hands and fingers will also be in some poses, be sure your digits are presentable!
Avoid stripes and plaid! Solid colors photograph much better. Avoid clothing that has wording on it except for your own school logo. Some shots are close up, others are full length. Plan your outfit completely. It is hard to do a full length formal in your suit if all you brought was big old tennis shoes.
Props
Bring Them! Bring props that help distinguish who you are. Some popular choices are: Sports equipment: soccer ball, football, hockey stick, hurdle etc…Also may we suggest sports uniforms: musical instruments or any hobbies that you are in, you name it! Why not even bring your car!
Cancellation Policy
We understand that "life happens" and you might need to postpone or cancel your appointment. All we ask is for is at a least 24 hour notice otherwise we will not be able to refund your session fee.
